A loose organisation of individuals attempting to make sure that all residents of Burngreave benefit from the changes that ICT brings, focussed around a e-mail distribution list. 2.Project. The social enterprise project, this hopes to establish a commercial organisation which can train Burngreave individuals skills, whilst developing and training other Burngreave residents.   3.Management Committee.  A subset of the general BITPart list to engage with funders and develop the social enterprise project. http://cgi.inetd.force9.co.uk/cgi-bin/bitpart/showmsg.pl?425 shows the formation of the committee.   Issues   1.Its my opinion that for the project to progress it needs a wider and more structured steering group than the current BITPart Management committee.   2.There has been a certain amount of infighting amongst the volunteers of the management committee.  There also seems to be some antipathy to the project by members of the management committee. http://ww.burngreave.net/mailman/private/management/2003-July/001204.html   3.Forum Working Group Status.  There has been talk of forming an IT working group for the Burngreave Forum, around the BITPart Management Committee.  It was passed at an unminuted management committee meeting.  This is the wrong place for that decision to be made, as the Management committee was formed solely for project management, not for inclusive discussion on community IT.   4.Assets.  BITPart has a number of  IT assets, both hardware, software and virtual. Some are donated by interested individuals, others have been provided by funders, or are loaned.  These are used to provide services as a whole, without clear delineation of ownership or responsibility. These assets need to be audited and a clear strategy made for there usage and future ownership.     Until some calm and clarity is brought to the situation and the issues above are resolved, I feel unable to continue as member of the Management committee, and will be unsubscribing myself from management mailing list within the next 24 hours.     I make no suggestions as to how these issues may be resolved but I'm happy to engage in constructive dialogue around them.  I also am happy to continue supporting the current users of BITPart services, and will continue to develop them until a properly constituted / accountable organisation that can lay claim to them tells me not too.     AED --   "Ideas improve.
